Thermal Nest Box Inspection Camera

Our Thermal Imaging Inspection Cameras detect the heat radiation of warm-bodied animals making them visible in total darkness, no artificial illumination needed. Even animals buried under nesting materials are readilly visible resulting in more accurate data during wildlife surveys.

This thermal camera produces a white hot video which looks conventional black & white video except warmer colours appear lighter. Refer to the product photos above. Traditional inspection cameras operating in the visible or infra red light spectrum can miss animals that are camouflaged or hiding, leading to underestimates of population sizes. Thermal imaging technology makes wildlife surveys more efficient. Surveyors can cover larger areas in less time, reducing the resources needed for each survey. This increased efficiency is particularly important for large-scale conservation projects, where time and funding are often limited.

Provides a Non Invasive technique for inspecting Tree Hollows, Nest Boxes & Cockatube type Nesting Tubes. Detects & records the Thermal Signature of warm blooded animals.

Camera transmits live video for viewing and recording on the included LCD-18 Monitor which mounts onto your extension pole, leaving both hands free. Ideal for group surveys & student participation as multiple LCD-18 Monitors can view & record the video feed from a single Thermal Camera.

Optional 640 x 512 resolution high magnification 60° FOV custom model available to order.

Thermal Camera has 200mm of forward projection, power is provided from a rechargeable smart battery pack we even include a handy nylon battery pouch which cable ties to your pole. Includes pole mountable LCD-18 Monitor with charger. Screws onto any painter’s type extension pole that has a 3/4" x 5TPI thread which looks like this.

This Monarch 1.8~3.6m pole from Bunnings for around $42 is suitable for nest boxes up to heights of 4~5 metres.
